Icaro Paragliders and products US sales

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why do you only carry Icaro?

West Coast Wings was founded exclusively to provide Icaro paragliders to the US market. I found out about them by chance actually when reading some reviews by European pilots. I was flying one of the popular brands in the US but not satisfied with the handling and the weight range. At 92kg. my options were limited to a few makers and with the rest it seems as if I would either be to light or over the top (as I was on my past glider). I took a chance and the effect of flying an Icaro glider was so profound that I wanted to contribute in some way to making them available for US pilots. Lets face it, nearly every company is making a good quality product and if you ask pilots, generally they'll say their favorite is the glider they currently own however for pilots facing the same issues I did, I've found Icaro to be the best choice out there. As an avid hobby pilot myself I would recommend them to everyone.

What are some attributes that stand out with Icaro paragliders?

Ease of launch, great glide ratio and a delicate balance of performance with passive safety are features of our gliders. Another attribute is the stability while flying with bar and big ears, among the best I've seen.

Where can I find more detailed specifications?

Please visit the Icaro paraglider main site for size/color, test results, online manuals, guarantee information, etc. while we work on making them available through this site.

Your prices are great, do you ship out of the US?

If you live in a country where there is not an Icaro Paraglider dealer we'd be happy to have your order. If there is a dealer near you we will kindly refer you there. Our prices have been set at an enticing level to encourage pilots to fly Icaro however it will not be so for very long due to the current value of the US dollar.

Where are your helmets?

Helmets are sold/distributed by Aerolight in the US by prior arrangement with Icaro2000 in Italy and so we do not carry them at this time. We use Icaro helmets ourselves and highly recommend them.

How do I order?

Simply give us a call at 253-678-2605 or email . We require proof of training equivalent to the level of glider you wish to purchase. It's not to be difficult, rather it's for the safety of you and the sport. When you call please have your naked weight and all up weight. Payment terms can be arranged via phone or email.

What is your backorder policy?

Glider sizes that aren't in stock generally take 2 weeks to arrive from Germany. In some situations we can have the glider shipped directly to you. If you're in an extreme hurry, faster shipping options are available at extra cost. For domestic shipping we use UPS or Priority mail.

I'm an instructor....

We welcome instructors that wish to offer Icaro paragliders to their students, please contact us for information!

How do I demo an Icaro glider?

We'd be happy to arrange a demo flight for you if you're in the Seattle area. Demo availability is subject to what's in stock, but let us know when you'll be here and we'll try to have the glider on hand that you wish to try.  Demo's of the Nikita and Cidan are arranged in conjunction with the manufacturer. If you do not have training and are in the Seattle area we can assist you through a partner school here or in many cases can recommend a good instructor in your area.
