Icaro Incanto INCANTO - set your spirit free! (please click on each picture to enlarge it) After 3 years waiting period there is now a new wing in the DHV 1-2 class from ICARO: the INCANTO. This amazing wing incorporates the latest technical findings of the designer Michael Nesler. The INCANTO is simple to launch, dynamic, precise, pulls into the thermals and absorbs turbulences masterfully. In the first few minutes of flight its high security reserves give a reassuring feeling to the pilot. Its fine handling converts the steering impulses of the pilot accurately, but also gently. It’s fun to fly, plain and simple! With its special canopy form and the flat ears it is a unique feature in the sky. Many new techniques have created this highly competitive wing, which shows its refinement in the detail: basic form, leading edge and unwinding were optimized; a new profile family was used in connection with a special curvature. But the true strength the INCANTO shows at full acceleration: over newly designed risers the INCANTO glides even better when accelerated than at trim speed. The INCANTO is the optimal companion for many pilots from talented beginners to ambitious pleasure fliers or sport class pilots. Xandi Meschuh, test pilot & professional acro pilot, and member of the team "Against the Grain" writes: “The new ICARO INCANTO accompanied me throughout the whole year of 2005. From the first prototype up to the released final version we tried to create a new generation of wing, which will address a broad range of pilots. I flew the INCANTO through the hard spring thermals into the summer. Between them it had to face itself to the hard test criteria during extreme flights over and over. The last test sessions in Kaernten, Italy and in Monaco made the wing consistantly better. With this innovative DHV 1-2 wing I left some competitors behind in the thermals, especially in accelerated flight. I look forward very much to presenting the INCANTO in the coming year and am convinced that the INCANTO will inspire many pilots in the future.” The INCANTO is already recognizable on sight by its performed Air intake Flaps - the new leading edge of the INCANTO. During take off the intake flaps are loose and increase the opening of the leading edge for a simple and easy launch. In the flight the they lay tightly on the bottom sail and reduce the cell openings to the size equivalent of a DHV 2 or a DHV 2-3 class wing and provide an additional achievement by doing so. In case of a pressure loss (for example in an asymmetric collapse), the additional air intake flaps open and provide a faster inflation.
